Rules are a fact of life.  We must have rules to maintain order.  An interesting thing about rules is the more you have the more room there is for loopholes.  The religious leaders of Jesus’ day were experts at finding loopholes.  The New Covenant Jesus began has but one commandment.  Therefore there’s no room for loopholes.
