Crown Me

The kings of Israel and Judah in the Old Testament is a history of great intrigue.  Too often these kings lived as though they were totally autonomous and unaccountable.  They were the king and thought they answered to no one.  Ultimately this presumption on their part was proved to be incorrect.  King Zedekiah learned this lesson the hard way, but he didn’t have to learn it the hard way.  Likewise we may learn by the teaching of scripture the error of presuming ourselves autonomous and accountable to no one.
